THE OFFICE OF HEALTH EQUITY EDUCATION©

The Office of Health Equity Education provides educational equity and health equity education and clinical services across the lifespan including equitable healthcare education for diverse students, faculty, healthcare providers, patients, families, communities, and organizations to provide competency-based, equitable, team-based care and advocate for social and distributive justice in nursing and healthcare. The foundation of this work is derived from the J R Young Health Equity Institute and the best standards in research, education, practice, administration including policy, technological advancement (e.g., tele-education), and the newly catered education and care concepts.

This work has begun in the Mississippi Delta to concretely make a difference in the lives of the people and to solidify the work of J R Young Health Equity Institute. Foundational collaborations and partnerships will be used in the process. 

Models 

The Health Equity Model© and Dive Into Health Equity Model© guide the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the work of the J R Young Health Equity Institute: Office of Health Equity Education and College of Diverse Education, Health, and Wellness Sciences. Programs, initiatives, research, and outcomes are expected to be delivered by the Office of Health Equity Education and College of Diverse Education, Health, and Wellness Sciences with building blocks in diversity, equity, inclusion, antibias, belonging, interprofessionalism, and quality improvement.

The CARE Model©

The CARE Model© has been implemented and will be tested within the J R Young Health Equity Institute. 

Clinical Services

J R Young Health Equity Institute, Office of Health Equity Education provides educational and health equity and clinical services for all in Greenville, MS, across the state, nationally, and internationally in a collaborative partnership with specified internal and external systems. An interprofessional and multi-modular approach has been implemented and evaluated throughout the community and beyond to improve educational and health equity. The office also provides interprofessional clinical services for patients, students, faculty, healthcare professionals, the community, the Mississippi Delta, across the state, and beyond.

Accreditation 

The institute is providing a strategic approach to accrediting institutions in educational and health equity. This process is tedious and guaranteed to improve education and health outcomes across the spectrum for individuals, families, communities, and organizations. Accreditation is offered to entities across the nation and internationally, starting with specified internal and external systems as the foundation. 

Research

Research is an integral part of the institution. Each opportunity for research within the institution through our assessments, populations, services, and any other means of improving educational and health equity and clinical services for all in the Mississippi Delta and beyond has been employed.

Education

Primary, Middle, Secondary, and Higher Education are at the core of the work for the J R Young Health Equity Institute - Office of Health Equity Education. These areas are foundational to educational and health equity education and services. These services are innovative and include the College of Diverse Education, Health, and Wellness Sciences.  Click here for more information about the college. The office will also provide education services encompassing the underpinnings of the institute in nursing and healthcare.
